who am i?
hey, you found this.
this is where i put things. half-built ideas, finished projects, and the stuff in between. not everything here is polished, and that's the point. i start messy and iterate toward something that feels right. usually does.
how i think
thinking and building are the same motion for me. i don't limit myself to one layer of the stack or one way of thinking. i'm a purist about the outcome, not the path. which means i'll try anything, discard most of it, and keep going until it's exactly what it should be.
i picked the things that scared me and ran at them. not because i was confident, but because i was more afraid of standing still. i'll obsess over the details that matter. the trick is not obsessing over all of them.
the scariest thing i've seen isn't failure. it's people who stopped trying new things and called it wisdom. they pick one way of being and defend it for the rest of their lives. i'd rather stay a beginner at a lot of things than an expert at staying the same. i've never gotten ahead by being better than anyone. just by being more myself than they were willing to be.
how i got here
i didn't plan any of this. i just kept making things. figured out that hackathons were the fastest way to learn, build, and get noticed. so i studied what actually won, not what sounded impressive, and built toward that. one win funded the next build. the next build opened a door.
but you don't get to plan the doors. you can't schedule the moment that changes everything, or the person who does. all you control is how many rooms you put yourself in, and whether you're awake when it shows up. most people miss it anyway. they're too busy protecting some version of themselves to move. recognizing the moment is the easy part. grabbing it before it closes is the whole game.
so i quit planning. no job applications. no networking strategy. just volume. figure out what you want, ignore everything else, and ship so much that it would be unreasonable for nothing to happen. that's basically my entire career philosophy.
what feeds it
i'm always paying attention to how things are made, and not just code. i watch what people are shipping, how it's built, what's catching on and why. i'll pull a product apart just to understand the decisions behind it. but just as much of it comes from somewhere else entirely. philosophy and psychology podcasts, game theory, music, movies, the occasional rabbit hole. traveling somewhere unfamiliar. all of it drags me into a point of view that isn't mine. that's where taste comes from. and every so often something flips my judgment completely, and i have to rebuild it better. i kind of like when that happens.
so i keep wandering. literally, too. a long enough trail and i stop reaching for my phone without noticing. it resets something screens can't. sometimes an idea shakes loose out there. mostly it just gets quiet enough to hear what i already think.

work in progress. intentionally.
